Maple is shutting down. Here's what to save and where to go next.

Last updated:

Maple shuts down on December 31, 2026, and all family data will be deleted with no way to recover it. Before then, save your calendar events, lists and family details. If Maple helped you keep up with school and activity emails, Kiddash is a free iPhone app built for that job: forward an email and it becomes an organized event.

What’s happening to Maple

Maple helped a lot of families share the mental load. Here is what its team has announced:

  • Maple was acquired by Wander and will sunset on December 31, 2026.
  • Your account and data stay available until then.
  • After that, accounts close and all data is permanently deleted.
  • Annual plans no longer renew. Monthly plans stay active until December 31.

What to save before December 31

Set aside 30 minutes this week. Once Maple deletes your data, it’s gone.

  1. Check your calendar. If Maple synced to Google, Apple or Outlook, open that calendar and confirm the events you need are saved there.
  2. Export your data so you can later transfer it to another app.
  3. Take screenshots of your schedules, just in case.
  4. Save recipes and meal plans you want to keep.

How to choose what comes next

Start with the job Maple did best for your family. Few apps replace all of it, so match the app to the job.

If Maple was mostly your… Look for
School and activity email inbox An app that turns forwarded emails into events, like Kiddash
Shared calendar Google or Apple Calendar sharing, free and already on your phone
Meal planner and grocery list A dedicated meal planning or shared list app
Everything at once An all-in-one organizer, with more setup

Five questions to ask any new app:

  1. Does it work without access to your whole inbox?
  2. Can everyone who helps see it, including grandparents and caregivers?
  3. Can you export events to your own calendar?
  4. Is the core job free?
  5. What happens to your data if the app changes or closes?

Where Kiddash does more for busy parents

  • Anything in, not just email. A coach’s text, a flyer from the backpack, a PDF newsletter. Forward it, screenshot it or snap it, and Kiddash turns it into an event or task.
  • Your inbox stays private. Kiddash never connects to your email account. It only sees what you choose to forward.
  • Pickups are covered. Assign a driver to every event, so everyone knows who’s going.
  • View by kid or all kids. See the whole family’s week, or one kid at a time.
  • Calm until it matters. Kiddash stays quiet and flags only what needs you, like a schedule conflict.
  • One view for everyone who helps. Parents, grandparents and caregivers see the same plan and can be assigned tasks.
  • Your calendar stays in sync. All events are exported to your calendar so you never double-book.

Where Maple did more: meal planning, recipes, chores and grocery lists. Kiddash doesn’t do these. Kiddash keeps it simple, we don’t want to overwhelm you. It is strictly for managing your kids’ happenings in one place.

Kiddash is free on iPhone, with a web app for planning from your computer.

Frequently asked questions

When is Maple shutting down?

December 31, 2026. After that, Maple accounts close and all data is deleted.

Can I get my Maple data back after December 31?

No. Maple says deleted data cannot be recovered. Save what you need before then.

Will my Maple events stay in Google Calendar?

Maple's calendar connections end on December 31. Before then, check that the events you need are saved in your calendar itself.

What happens to my Maple subscription?

Annual plans no longer renew. Monthly plans stay active until December 31, 2026.

What is a good Maple alternative for school emails?

Look for an app that turns forwarded emails into events and shares them with your family. Kiddash does this for free on iPhone.

Is Kiddash better than Maple?

For keeping track of kids' school and activities, yes. Kiddash turns emails, texts, flyers and documents into one organized view, never connects to your email account, and lets you assign a driver to each event. Maple covered more of the household, like meals and chores, but it closes December 31, 2026.

Does Kiddash read my email?

No. Kiddash only sees the emails you forward to it.

Is Kiddash on Android?

Not yet. Kiddash is on iPhone, with a web app for your computer.
